Dr. Summer Heatly, DVM

Dr. Heatly grew up in SW Oklahoma and developed an interest in veterinary medicine, and a strong passion for 4 legged creatures at a young age.
She graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary medicine in 2009. She then completed a 1 year internship at Peterson
and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Fl prior to returning to Oklahoma.
In January of 2015, Dr. Heatly founded Great Plains Veterinary Service as a full service mobile hospital. In 2017, with the rapid growth of business and increased clientele, Great Plains proudly opened it's doors to the full service small animal clinic located in Arcadia, OK.
Dr. Clairissa Maples, DVM
Certified & Specializing in Acupuncture
Dr. Clairissa Maples was raised on a small farm in Southeastern OK. Growing up, she could always be found playing with her animals that she adored. She graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. After working for a small animal hospital for two years, she met Dr. Heatly and officially joined Great Plains Veterinary Services in November 2018.
Dr. Maples enjoys educating clients about the care needed for their pets as they progress through different life stages to ensure they live a long and healthy life. She is especially fond of geriatric patients, which inspired her to pursue training in veterinary acupuncture as an alternative method of treating chronic diseases diagnosed in older patients. Dr. Maples also enjoys internal medicine and surgery cases. In her spare time, she likes to travel, spend time with her friends, and compete in local autocross events with her Mustang.

Becca grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma where her love of animals began early in life. Her childhood was spent mostly in the barn with the horses. After high school Becca attended Redlands Community Collage and rode on their Intercollegiate Horse Show Team. Later she was accepted to OSU-OKC where she obtained her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Becca joined the Great Plains team as a Veterinary Technician in 2017 and recently received her Certification in Canine and Equine Sports Massage Therapy.

Jessica grew up in Bartlesville, OK. She spent summers at her grandparents farm in South Dakota, it was common for her grandma to find her pulling barn kittens out of feed bags to cuddle or feeding bottle calves. She has always had a love for animals big and small.
Jessica graduated from Oklahoma State University’s Veterinary Technology Program in 2016. She worked in small animal medicine for a few years after graduation. In 2018, she decided to pursue her passion and expand her knowledge of large animal medicine and accepted a part-time position as a part of our team here at Great Plains Veterinary Services. In her spare time, she enjoys learning the Korean and Japanese languages and traveling.
Caitlyn grew up in Luther, Oklahoma and graduated as valedictorian from Luther High School in May 2016. She started with Great Plains in May 2018 shadowing and then took a position as a Veterinary Assistant the following August.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Gabriel, dog Max and two rabbits. They are excited to welcome home the newest member of their family, Nathan Slawson June 2019. Caitlyn is looking forward to her future endeavors with her family & loves being a staff member here at Great Plains !
Emily grew up in Luther, Oklahoma, where her passion for animals began. She graduated from Luther High School as valedictorian of her class and has attended OSU-OKC in pursuit of a BS in Animal Science. Emily was a member of Future Farmers of America and has been heavily involved in agriculture since a very young age, growing up on her family’s fourth generation ranch.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé (and little dog Hank) and helping manage their growing cattle operation where she can be found doing anything from hauling and raking hay to checking, doctoring, and feeding cattle. Emily is also a TIP trainer for the Bureau of Land Management and has always had a special passion for horses.
Fiana comes to Great Plains with several years of experience in the Veterinary Medicine field. Starting as a technician when she was just 19 years old, Fiana worked both standard practice and emergencies. She spent three years focusing on emergency and internal medicine prior to taking her position with Great Plains in 2017 where she now plays a crucial roll in our office managing day-to-day operations.
Fiana is the proud mother of one son and has a slew of animals that fuels her passion for this industry. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse, training dogs, reading and spending time with her loved ones.
Makayla grew up in Wellston, Ok. At a young age she developed an interest in caring for all animals. She currently attends East Central University and is studying to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After graduation in May of 2020, Makayla plans to attend Vet School and become a Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine.
In her free time, Makayla enjoys horseback riding and exploring all the things nature has to offer.
